Thank you. I did shoot this with the 50mm 1.4. I've heard that the 1.8 is just as good and it's only $70!! This is the lens that I always have on my camera now. I just got a 70-300mm at the same time. I've only used that once. :)

oh really?! wow.... that was the exact telephoto that i was thinking of getting too. i dunno... i love the low f number on the 50mm and i hear you can learn a lot without a zoom, but then again i'm always thinking "i wish i could zoom in more! "
gah. i dunno :-(

Well..if you get the zoom, make sure it is the one with image stabilazation. It's a bit more expensive. In the $500 range. With the 50mm you can shoot in low light when you open up your aperature all the way. I love the shallow depth of field too.

sorry... but what is image stabilazation?

It stables the lens, so you won't have the camera shake blur that you would get with a zoom lens. They are long, and heavy so it's a lot harder to hold them still.
